Chi sono
My name is Massimiliano Zazzi, and I am the creator of MBC – Medical Intelligence Search.
I am not a doctor or a researcher.
From a personal need to a project open to others
The project grew out of a personal experience that brought me face to face with a very practical problem: the sheer amount of information available about breast cancer and, at the same time, the difficulty of finding it, connecting it and understanding its context.
While searching for information, I came across scientific publications, clinical trials, databases, information about medicines, research centres and many other sources. The problem was not necessarily a lack of information. Very often, it was finding it and, once found, understanding how it related to the other information available.
That is how MBC began
I wondered whether it would be possible to build a tool capable of carrying out part of this work systematically: not a tool that tells someone what to do, but one that helps people understand what information exists, where it was published, which clinical trials are available, which sources address the same subject and how well documented what they are reading actually is.
The role of MBC
MBC therefore aims to provide verifiable information together with its sources, leaving people and healthcare professionals to assess that information in the appropriate context.
Why make it available to others
If finding and organising this information was difficult for me, it may be difficult for other people too. That is why I decided MBC should not remain simply a personal tool.
