Come utilizzare MBC

MBC lets you search for breast-cancer information starting from a question, a topic, or optional characteristics that can help narrow the search.

1. Choose how you want to read the information

Patient uses more accessible language. Clinician provides greater technical detail. Researcher prioritises deeper documentary and scientific detail.

The mode you choose does not change the scientific evidence used by the system: it changes the presentation, not the underlying facts.

2. Enter your search

You can search for a molecule, medicine, clinical trial, mutation or biomarker, a type of breast cancer, or another scientific topic. Where available, you can add optional parameters to make the search more specific.

3. Read the results

MBC organises information so that clinical trials, medicines, publications and other documentary evidence can be distinguished from one another. Links to the sources are also shown where available.

4. Interpret the level of documentation

The fact that there is a large or small amount of information on a topic is not a treatment recommendation. It describes the state of the documentation that the system has been able to trace to the available sources.

5. Consult the sources

When a result is relevant to you, consult the original documentation as well. MBC is intended to be a gateway to knowledge, not a replacement for the sources that produce it.

6. If the information concerns your personal situation

The information you find can be material to explore further and discuss with your doctor. MBC must not be used to change treatment on your own or to make clinical decisions.
